30 Day Beach Bum (Momma don't take my kodachrome Away!)

The second wave of Special guest is coming towards the end.  We have been blessed with sunny days.  The rain has held off till late evenings all week so Adalynn, Riley, and Lucas have managed to get alot done on their Scavenger hunt.  We've also logged some more Beach time.

We did go back to the deeded beach access once.  Its a great spot very few people on the beach there, but the the path to the beach is a challenge.

So we have spent more days down at the Fulgar Street Beach access. The unloading zone is more open and less tempting for the blood sucking welcoming committee.

For those of you who know our daughter-in-law (Kristine), she was in a car accident back in 2023.  Today she is still battling issues with walking but true to the trooper she is she didn't let that stop her from experiencing the Gulf for the first time.

All we needed was a trolling motor

Mission Success-Now how we gonna get her outta there?

The scavenger Hunters found the Mermaids box this morning and were greeted with a special delivery from the Mermaid.  They also left some items for future visitors to enjoy.

I'm a mythical creature from the sea, There's a place on Sanibel where I'll be.  I get my mail and leave some treasures.  If you seek me out it will be your pleasure!

There are also painted shells being placed all over the island so on Sanibel there more to just hunting treasure on the sea shore.

Speaking of shells we were all at the Blue Giraffe for breakfast this morning talking about shells. I have to say this has been one of our best shelling trips so far. You can see pictures of our treasures from an earlier post in this blog.  As good as it has been that rare Junonia shell still eludes me.  I been coming down here over 20 years and have yet to find one. I did find a piece of one once.  I tell my little Scavenger hunters "The first one to find PaPa a Junonia its worth $100 dollars."  Riley asked to see what one looks like cause she's all about making some bank.  I pull out my phone and search Junonia and show her the first picture that shows up.  Then she proceeds to tell me "Wait a minute it says here its worth $166.00.  It was an Esty post and someone was trying to sell one for $166.  I think we have a future entrepreneur in our future.  By the way $100 is still the offer!

We also made a trip out on the Lady Chadwick this week we were fortunate enough to get some entertainment from the local Dolphins.

Scavenger Hunting is hard work!

The ocean giveith and also takeith away!  Remember the song "Kodachrome" from Paul Simon?

"I got a Nikon camera I love to take photograph So momma don't take my kodachrome away!

Carol found out today as her Nikon camera went bye bye in the gulf. It was an older camera she has had for some time but apparently the strap was not as strong as it use to be.

None of us know just how far we will get to travel down life's highway.  What's important is the stops and memories we get to make along the way.
