The Sequel-Day4

Today we skipped the morning breakfast and the cast walked down the beach to Blind Pass.  We were hoping for a little help from the shell gods but all we really got was a few augers, olives and wet.  The gods decided to give us rain and the closer to the house we got the harder it rained.  Oh well it was warm and was keeping the mosquitoes at bay.

Today The Roadie and the Executive Producer went to play golf.  The Dunes was closed for aeration of the greens so we settled on Beachview.  I couldn't find the balls I used last year Callaway "Bite"  I liked those because they really fit my game.(It bites too).  Well I settled on a new ball this year from Nike It Nike SFT after the first few holes I figured out what the SFT stands for.  heading STRAIGHT FOR TROUBLE!

Highlight after the golf excursion was to stop by Tropical wines and I FINALLY got my bottle of Watermelon Wine.  I been waiting for it for over a year.  Hope its worth the wait.  Tropical Wines is located in The Village Shops shopping plaza its on Periwinkle Way last shopping center on the right just before you make the right turn to head to Captiva.

Tonight was Date night for the Director and The Executive Producer.  Dinner tonight was Thistle Lodge.  We went there last year for the first time.  Its a beautiful setting with views of the Gulf and the food is top quality.  Andrew was our waiter again this year and he does a first class job. Its Good to see a wait staff that cares about their job.

On the way to dinner I thought about Snowbird. Shes a regular on the BOSC and when shes here in Sanibel volunteers at CROW.  We were driving the never ending road of San Cap Drive.  There was a Chevy Impala in front of us and suddenly a raccoon comes walking out from the jungle.  You know that flinch reflex that happens right before impact?  We thought sure Sanibel was going to be minus one less Raccoon.  Right at the edge of the road he stops does a backward roll so he can bite whatever was biting him.  I don't know if it was a flea, tick or just the urge to scratch but it was like he didn't even know how close he came to becoming a Chevy Impala hubcap.  Anyway snowbird if your out there one less customer for CROW that time.

So the mosquitoes have been terrible.  I don't know if its because we are here about a month later than normal.  I don't remember them being this bad before.  The youngest Beach Angel has eczema on her feet, legs and hands.  Shes had it since birth and we are hoping she grows out of it.  Bug repellent and eczema don't go good together.  The repellent irritates her so she won't wear it.  The down side then of course is being the main course for those blood thirsty critters.  So rather than see the little one suffer The Executive Producer and the other Beach Angel stayed in and played a few games of Pickup sticks while the rest of the cast made a curtain call for the sunset.  The Director got a few good shots of the sunset tonight so enjoy.

Fab sunset pictures! I wish I were there, even with the damn mosquitoes.

Hi, this is Snowbird. Thanks for the story of the raccoon. I'm so glad that he avoided what probably would not have been a very good ending. Sounds like you are having a wonderful time here. I'm enjoying your posts.
