There's a thief on Captiva

Our time with paradise is almost over, but the journey continues.  We will be leaving on Tuesday morning.  We got a call from the condo owner on Sunday morning.  We had rented the condo for 9 days.  She was going to come down and spend some time after we left on Tuesday but her schedule would not allow it.  She called to let us know we were welcome to stay till Friday if we wanted.  How nice is that?  I would have jumped on the opportunity but we have made plans to travel about 4 hours north to Fruitland Park FL to visit some old friend we have not seen in ages.

We are then going to take a slower route home and stop along the way to bathe in the ocean breeze a few more times before heading back to Missouri.  We have a stop planned at St. George Island FL and Gulf shores AL.  We have not traveled through the pan handle of Florida before so we our planning routes along the coast.  New highways down our road of life.

This has truly been a great week!  The weather was great.  The ocean was welcoming and I didn't get put in time out once this week!!

Paradise even granted me a special gift from the sea with my first Lion's Paw.  We stopped by the Island Sun and I got my picture taken this morning.  It felt a little cheesy, but I am proud of the find and have already purchase a small box to proudly display it when we get back home.

I even scored a piece of Junonia.  While not a complete shell it will still be displayed with the other mementos that we have collected over the years.  One of my blogger friends "Shelllady" a.k.a "O2binsanibel" said It was a sheller's law you have to keep any and all Junonia shells.

I tried to add another research candidate to the "Best Seafood Omelet on Sanibel" study, but struck out.  Blue Giraffe for breakfast.  They don't have a seafood omelet on the menu.  Ok, so I'm also a big fan of Cajun food and they did have a Cajun hash and eggs on the menu.  I'm sorry but large chunks of potatoes with a little Andouille sausage and two eggs on top does not qualify IMO as a hash. "Troy Landry" from Swamp People would not approve!

Choot em! That ain't no hash

I did also want to report that there is a thief on Captiva.  My photographer caught the culprit in the act not just once but several times mind you.  We have taken steps to report him to the local authorities.  In this world of social media these days it is virtually impossible to get away with anything.  I have posted pictures to get the word out.  Lets not let this one get away with it.  Your help is needed to track him down!!
Please share with your friends justice must be served.

The Culprit arrives on the scene once unsuspecting owner has vacated

Methodically he cases the area looking for valuables

He's in and out in less than 60 seconds

Fearing capture he knows he can't remain at the site of the crime

He prefers taking things that are in carrying cases, easy to load for quick get away

At a safe distance from the scene he will take the valuables and discard the unwanted items

Subject weighs approx. 20 oz.  16-18 inches in length,  Large nose with Cheetos dust on it!

He was spotted returning to the scene this time for a bag of Doritos, He was also spotted trying to leave another location with a pouch of Redman chewing tobacco.  If you see this suspect DO NOT APPROACH.  He is brazen and verbally assaulted a young group of teenage boys when they approached his last crime scene.  He must be brought to justice!

I have added another shell name for the other Beach Angel. The oldest is Lexi.  She was my first grandchild Lexi is a "True Tulip"  like a flower from the sea Lexi is the flower of my heart.  I made a promise next year even if her mom can't make it to paradise she can come with NaNa and PaPa.

Lexi, Tulip like a flower form the ocean.  Lexi is the flower of PaPa's heart
